Summary
Nether Hall is one of The Woodland Trust’s ‘Woods on Your Doorstep’ planted to commemorate the millennium. Situated between Hartshorne and Midway, near Swadlincote, it comprises young and mature mixed broadleaf woodland, a wet meadow and streams. A formal yew avenue runs from Nether Hall through the middle of the site and will become a distinctive landscape feature as it matures. Young beech trees have been planted to support an existing small spinney of beech, to perpetuate this woodland type. The wood is managed by Heartwood Community Woodfuel Group on behalf of the Woodland Trust.
